Abstract
The project aims to fill gaps in the existing knowledge and literature on housing and regional inequalities. While the issue of regional and social inequalities is relatively well described, little attention has been paid to housing affordability and the financial value of housing and houses as a significant factor that produces and reproduces these inequalities. The originality of the project lies in making the socio-spatial situation of Slovakia more transparent in terms of changes in housing affordability at regional and local level over the last 20 years, in conjunction with an analysis of the wider implications of this uneven development for different types of localities and regions and their inhabitants. The project will also provide a reflection of this process by its actors themselves and a reflection of municipal representatives in terms of the impact of this process on the territory and on the possibilities of solving the problems that have arisen.
