Duration: 01/2014 – 12/2016
The project focuses on factors contributing to inequalities of education prospects in ethnically and socially diverse school environment and everyday practical procedures by which schools attempt to support equal access to education and social inclusion. Empirical part of the project combines the analysis of the data from the surveys of school social climate and students' school results and socio-economic backgrounds, with participant observation of everyday communication among teachers and students and among classmates. To significant extent, research will be framed by the perspective of everyday life elaborated in Dilbar Alieva's work. Sociology of everyday life will provide conceptual equipment and stimuli for empirical part of the project and will be elaborated further in reflection of the research findings. Interaction with ongoing research of everyday life in school will provide basis for completing first systematization of sociological investigations of everyday life in Slovakia.
