Annotation: Project will focus on issue of activities insufficiently watched yet which are forming new socio-spatial structures in Slovakia and which act also outside Slovakia in various forms. These new phenomena reflect certain socio-political processes cohered with respect given to principles of decentralization and subsidiarity on one hand and with new development processes coming out from the changes in economic and technological spheres, changes following from creation of civic society environment as one of the aspects of cultural-civilizing changes of present days. Mainly in the environment of disaggregated settlement structure with the significant representation of small village settlements and small towns – what is a typical feature of Slovakia – these new activities become way and chance to solve the inner pro-development limits at the local, microregional and regional levels. New socio-spatial structures complement – in the view of functional needs – the official territorial-administrative state structures as well as functions these official structures should provide. The question which forms of complementariness and harmonization are being created and are really functioning among these structures is considered as still non-answered question by way of research.
