Annotation:
In recent years many valuable data on Slovak society have been collected. Many originate from international
sociological surveys while other come from finalized and up till now unused databases. This project would enable
to fructify those data. We concentrate on five themes: religiosity, family, migration, voters and leisure time. All
themes include the possibility of temporal and / or international comparisons. Also findings from political science,
demography and religious studies will be used. This will enable to provide a more universal account of the
respective themes as well as on the trends within Slovak society. The objective will be to focus on the following
research areas: changes of religious settings and religiosity in Slovakia; ageing of population; migration from
Slovakia after 1989; uneven electoral turn-out, factors of voting behavior between 1929 – 2006, voting patterns;
leisure time activities and life styles
